ACT II Complex Dennis G. Koch, LMHC (#6972) Dennis holds a license as a Mental Health Counselor (#6972). He has been licensed since February, 2002. Dennis has been counseling and coaching individuals, couples and families since 1992. This includes couples issues; substance abuse and dependency/addictions; relationship and general family concerns; stress and anxiety; panic; work-related problems and concerns; employee assistance; spiritual concepts; the use of various forms of art in the therapeutic process toward emotional health and fear-related problems prevalent in our society.
He is a visual artist working at this creative process since a pre-teen in New York City. The written word also plays an important role in his life in the form of poetry and journaling. Dennis believes in the use of integrating (Eastern) spiritual concepts such as ones joys in life from the inside for clients so that their emotional and physical wellness are harmonious. The Buddhist saying for this harmony and well-being is "Dharma". In brief, his orientation is designed toward a positive and solution-oriented outlook for each person vs. negativity. As a "behaviorist" who believes that each person has the ability to make positive choices in their attitude and behavior by integrating creative choices each day into their way of being. Dennis makes every attempt to encourage his clients to also "look within". He understands that each moment is precious and ever-changing. Therefore, he uses meditative music, art, prayer, breathing, relaxation and light energizing exercises in his work with couples and individuals in order to assist them to make vital behavioral and emotional changes. His hope and joy for all is to become vigilant of their mind, body, and spirit ... to increase their awareness of their own feelings and thoughts in order to begin the process and facilitation toward positive changes. |
